PINNACLE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL LEADERSHIP HIRINGS FOR LUMIÈRE PLACE IN DOWTOWN ST. LOUIS

ST. LOUIS, MO, April 16, 2007 – Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: PNK) announces two
new additions to the team at Lumière Place, now under construction in downtown St. Louis.

April R. Amos is the new Talent Manager for Lumière Place. She is responsible for hiring the
Ladies and Gents for the Lumière Place service program. Amos has been with Pinnacle
Entertainment since 2005 when she started in the Executive Development Program. Most
recently she managed Pinnacle’s guest satisfaction program from the corporate headquarters in
Las Vegas, NV.

Amos is a graduate of the University of Southern California and has dual Bachelor’s degrees in
Print Journalism and English, Creative Writing.

Crystal Allen is a Government Affairs Specialist for Lumière Place. She works directly with
governmental agencies, civic and business leaders and elected officials. Allen started with
Pinnacle Entertainment in 2004 and joined the Executive Development Program in 2005. Prior
to coming to St. Louis, Allen worked at Pinnacle’s Boomtown Hotel & Casino in Bossier City,
Louisiana.

Allen is a graduate of Dillard University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban
and Regional Planning.
